DESCRIPTION:Barton Community College invites early childhood educators\, afterschool providers\, community volunteers\, and families to participate in Science Activities for the Young Child\, a special hybrid class designed to bring the wonders of science into the lives of young learners.\n\n\n\nThis one-credit-hour course\, taught by Coordinator of Early Childhood and Elementary Education KellyAnn Bonnell\, will meet 6 - 8:30 p.m. June 18 and July 24 on the Barton County Campus. Between these sessions\, participants will complete engaging online assignments to deepen their learning.\n\n\n\nBonnell said the course allows participants to build a portfolio of hands-on science activities designed for toddlers\, preschoolers\, and school-age children. It will introduce the Next Generation Science Standards for preschool and an overview of the Kansas Early Learning Standards for Science.
