"This fund has been invaluable for many types of financial support of our cancer patients.\n\n\n\n"Our neighbors living with cancer need strong support of mind\, body and spirit\," Mingenback continued. "The last thing they need to deal with is financial issues."\n\n\n\nOver the years\, the fund has helped buy health insurance for patients with pre-existing conditions\, as well as interactive television equipment that makes it possible to seek second opinions from University of Kansas Cancer Center oncologists. It can also be a resource for some day-to-day minor expenses.\n\n\n\n"There is quite a range of possibilities\," Mingenback said.
