SUMMARY:Vet Leader One-Day Conference
DESCRIPTION:Veterinarians and all types of business owners are expected to converge in Great Bend\, Kansas on Friday\, July 28th for the first ever Vet Leader One-Day conference\, organized by Nels Lindberg\, DVM. The targeted leadership event will include dynamic speakers on all areas of running a successful practice including financing\, accounting\, marketing\, leadership\, and other veterinary opportunities. \n\n\n\n"Veterinarians are trained from a medical standpoint to treat animals and keep them well\, but college doesn't teach you how to run a business or lead a team of employees\," Dr. Lindberg says. "As I travel around the country giving talks to veterinarians\, I get more questions about how to solve everyday problems with running a business than I do about anything else. My hope is that this conference will help lots of other young veterinarians learn some of the things that have taken me over a decade to figure out."\n\n\n\nThe keynote speakers on each of the entrepreneurial topics are experts in their field of study\, and will focus their presentations with pieces of advice everyone in attendance can start using right away. The full line-up of speakers will be announced soon\, but the primary keynote on leadership and managing people will be given by Dr. Lindberg himself. "Managing personnel and leading an organization are not necessarily the same thing. My goal is to inspire those in the audience to put their people first\, including their employees\, their customers\, and their families\," he says. "If they can get that right\, success will come naturally."\n\n\n\nRegistration will open at 10 a.m. with the first keynote address beginning at 11 a.m. Meals and refreshments are included\, and attendees can look forward to a delicious 3-course ribeye luncheon along with an after hours social featuring hors d'ouevres and an open bar. A few of the key sponsors will be exhibiting\, and breaks will give participants time to network.\n\nTickets are $99 before July 15th\, or $129 after July 15th. Those who register early will also receive a bonus gift at no additional charge. Veterinary students can attend at a reduced rate of $69 per person. The event is eligible for RACE continuing education credit. Learn more about the Vet leader One-Day on July 28th\, and register at www.drnels.com/events.
