The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce, through its Ag-Business Committee, is excited to host the 30th Annual Kids Ag Day on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Diamond K Farm (706 SW 20 Rd, Great Bend, KS), owned by the Koelsch family.
We invite Chamber Members, Businesses, and Volunteers to experience Kid's Ag Day and help the Great Bend Chamber celebrate the 30th Anniversary while thanking the countless volunteers and businesses who have supported this tradition.
Following the Ribbon Cutting, nearly 400 fourth-grade students from public and private schools in Claflin, Hoisington, Ellinwood, Otis-Bison, Pawnee Rock, and Great Bend will tour the farm. For three decades, Kids Ag Day has provided students with an immersive experience in agriculture, fostering education and awareness in this vital industry.
Highlights of the Day:
- Informative Talks: Covering crops, livestock, machinery, and more.
- Hayrack Ride: Enjoy a scenic tour of the farm stations.
- Petting Zoo: A hands-on experience with farm animals.
Kids Ag Day aims to enhance students' understanding of agriculture's role in our local economy. The event has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from teachers and students, enriching their knowledge and appreciation for agriculture. Our efforts have also garnered national recognition from esteemed agricultural organizations.
Get Involved: We encourage chamber members to volunteer and be part of this inspiring event. Your participation will help inspire the next generation's passion for agriculture and foster a deeper connection with our agricultural community.
