Building Bridges
GBHS is partnering with Kansas WorkforceONE, The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce, Great Bend Economic Development, and JAG to host "Building Bridges", and event designed to strengthen the connections between educators, students, and the workforce in and around Barton County. Building Bridges will take place Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at GBHS. The agenda for the event is as follows:
Networking, Appetizers, and Table Visitation
5:30 - 6:00pm: Early access for GBHS students and parents
6:00 - 6:30pm: All Attendees
Opening Introductions, Awards, and Presentations
6:30 - 7:15pm:
- WorkKeys Recognition: GBHS students earning National Career Readiness Certification
- Career Shadow Partnership Recognition and Success Spotlight
- Great Bend Chamber: Manufacturing Awards
- Great Bend Economic Development: Grow GB Workforce Initiative
- GBHS Work-Based Learning Model Overview
7:15 - 8:00pm:
- Discussion Topics will focus on:
- Offering Work-Based Learning experiences (internships, apprenticeships, ect.) to our students.
- Providing essential skills training and continued practice to our students.
