Friday Night Lights

The lights at Great Bend High School’s Memorial Stadium will shine bright this Friday night, April 17, to celebrate the Senior Class of 2020 and spring athletes, coaches, and families. Set to illuminate at 20:20 (8:20 pm) for 20 minutes to honor the class of 2020, the stadium lights will continue to shine on Friday nights through May 15. “We’re sending a message to our students and community to ‘Be the Light’ even in these uncertain times,” said David Meter, athletic director at GBHS. “More than anything, we want our Senior Class as well as the spring athletes who didn’t get a chance to step onto the field, court, track, or pool, to know that we are still cheering them on.” The community is invited to drive by GBHS’s Memorial Stadium on Friday evenings through May 15 to witness this tribute. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines and to abide by all traffic laws.
