The KU Natural History Museum’s pop-up Mobile Museum will travel to Salina, Great Bend, and Garden City in July 2019. Youth and families in these Kansas communities will have the opportunity to explore natural history collections up close and learn about fossils through a donor-funded outreach project. These outreach events will feature displays of more than 90 species, plus hands-on paleontology activities. The KU NHM mobile museum will be visiting Great Bend Public Library on Saturday, July 13, from 10am – 2pm. This fun and educational program is free to all visitors. The library will receive a Mosasaurus skull cast to keep, as well as a story book about mosasaurs and other prehistoric creatures. Program activities include a paleontology dig pit, making your own trace fossils, and more!
