KWEC Raspberry Pi Jams
The Raspberry Pi is a tiny computer used to help "Makers" harness the power of computing and digital technologies to solve problems that matter to them and express themselves creatively. KWEC Raspberry Pi Jams are designed to build on skills each day, but if you can't come to all days we will catch you up. Youth 4th-12th Grade-10:30-3pm on the days listed below: Projects to include: August 4-What's a Raspberry Pi? Programming LED's: Imitate a firefly! Program an LED light show! August 5-PiCamera Photobooth: Use the Pi's add-on camera to program animal GlamourShots August 6-PiCamera Timelapse: Plant seeds, program the camera, and watch them grow. August 11-Critter Alert: Use of a motion sensor, lights, and buzzer to create an alarm. August 12-Pi Camera Trailcam: Want to know what 's been in your backyard? We can help. August 13-Construct PiNoculars: Take pictures and video with a zoom-powered PiCamera. Students will use the KWEC's equipment each week, but we can give you guidance if you want to purchase a Raspberry Pi kit of your own.
