School is out for several area schools this day! Come to KWEC and discover the geological features of Cheyenne Bottoms! Come and go activities will be available from 10:00 a.m. -2:30 p.m. Identify a mineral with a streak test and find its place on the Moh’s hardness scale, learn about the different types of rocks in our area and make a mold of a fossil. Explore the rock cycle, make an edible soil profile, study watersheds, and design a water color geode. We’ll also see if we can use the microbes in wetlands mud to light an LED! Blake, a FHSU grad student, also made informational signs for our 1/2 mile nature trail about the geological wonders of our area!
