Made In GBK Manufacturing Tours 2021
This month we highlight the manufacturing industry and the career paths available.
The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce is again partnering with Creators Wanted to facilitate events locally with the ?Made in GBK? campaign. Through partnerships with the Great Bend High School, Barton Community College, Great Bend Economic Development, and Kansas WorkforceONE, the chamber will create opportunities for manufacturers to show student what they do, highlight the economic importance of manufacturing, and draw attention to rewarding manufacturing careers.
Now in our third year, ?Made in GBK? kicked off with a joint proclamation recognizing Manufacturing Day by Barton County and the City of Great Bend. Next, students and community leaders will tour participating manufacturers in the area to see first-hand what is being created right here at home.
Following their tours, students will be asked to complete a brief survey and VOTE on their favorite manufacturer. The manufacturer with the most votes will be recognized during the Building Bridges event, held on the evening of November 3rd at the Great Bend High School, by receiving the first ?Made in GBK? Award, culminating the month-long celebration.
Special thanks to our ?Made in GBK? sponsors: Kansas Manufacturing Solutions, Landmark National Bank, and Hutton.
