Perseid Meteor Shower Party
Come join us for our annual Perseid Meteor Shower Party, Friday evening, August 9, 2019 at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center. The Perseid shower results when debris from the Swift-Tuttle comet enters the atmosphere. As the particles burn up, they appear as shooting stars radiating from the constellation Perseus. Activities for the evening include the always popular Inflatable Planetarium Shows, Luminary Constellation Craft, Glow-in-the-Dark Wiffle Ball, "Moon Dust" footprint photo, Solar System Hats with the Great Bend Library, Egg-Drop Lunar Landing STEM challenge and Smores over the campfire. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to sit out and watch for the meteor show at dark! For additional information contact KWEC at 877-243-9268 or visit our website at http://wetlandscenter.fhsu.edu
