Run Ready: Public Leadership Roadtrip

Run Ready: Public Leadership Roadtrip
Barton County Civic Leadership Lab
July 29 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Great Bend Chamber of Commerce
Ready to take a deeper look at how our community runs—and how you could be part of it?
Join us for the second installation of the Chamber’s Run Ready program. This year’s experience, the Barton County Civic Leadership Lab, takes a roadtrip-style approach, offering a one-day immersive look at the essential roles that keep Great Bend and Barton County moving forward.
As part of the ElevateGBK strategic plan’s Advocacy initiative, this program is focused on cultivating informed, engaged business and community leaders and inspiring a greater interest in public service and elected office.
Participants will travel to key public institutions, including City Hall, USD 428, Barton County, and Barton Community College, for engaging conversations with elected officials and senior administrators.
At each stop, you’ll gain insight into:
- Why these leadership roles are critical to the mission and daily operations of each organization
- What these roles actually entail—their responsibilities, scope, and community impact
- What these roles are not—clearing up common misconceptions and understanding important boundaries
This interactive experience is designed to be conversational, accessible, and empowering—perfect for those curious about leadership, governance, and civic engagement.
Cost to participate is $25 with lunch included.
Registration is required. Space is limited to 25 participants.
If you register and are unable to attend, please notify Chamber staff so your seat may be offered to someone else.
