The Long Road to Women's Suffrage in Kansas
The Great Bend Public Library and Great Bend League of Women Voters are collaborating to host a presentation and discussion by Diane Eickhoff. Members of the community are invited to attend the free program, which is made possible by Humanities Kansas. Kansas was historically a leader in women's rights, yet the campaign for suffrage in our state required decades of determined effort. This presentation will explore the individuals who challenged interests opposed to election reform and explore other "firsts" that women achieved on the road to suffrage. Diane Eickhoff is an independent historian, writer, and editor of education materials.
