Heartland Cancer Center Benefit Auction

The community now has the chance to show its support for local cancer patients and their families by participating in this year’s Heartland Cancer Center (HCC) Benefit Auction.

Tickets are available for the event, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Club at Stoneridge; cost is $35 each.

All proceeds are earmarked for the St. Rose Foundation’s HCC Patient Care Fund; HCC is part of the St. Rose family.
Mark Mingenback, St. Rose director of business development and marketing, noted that this is the ninth annual benefit.

“This generous community has contributed more than $442,000 over these past nine years,” Mingenback said. “This fund has been invaluable for many types of financial support of our cancer patients.

“Our neighbors living with cancer need strong support of mind, body and spirit,” Mingenback continued. “The last thing they need to deal with is financial issues.”

Over the years, the fund has helped buy health insurance for patients with pre-existing conditions, as well as interactive television equipment that makes it possible to seek second opinions from University of Kansas Cancer Center oncologists. It can also be a resource for some day-to-day minor expenses.

“There is quite a range of possibilities,” Mingenback said. “The bottom line is St. Rose wants to do whatever it can to make life a little easier for our patients and their families.”
