THE STATE OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN KANSAS - Luncheon
Fort Hays State University invites you to a luncheon, compliments of the sponsors listed below, featuring Dr. Andy Tompkins who will discuss “The State of Higher Education in Kansas.” Learn how FHSU and other regents universities have been successful in preparing an educated workforce in an ever-changing and globally connected world.
Tompkins was appointed interim president of Fort Hays State University in mid-December 2016. He has served at all levels of public education including high school English teacher, high school principal, and superintendent. From 1996-2005, Tompkins served as Commissioner of Education for the state of Kansas. His higher education experience includes work as an associate professor, department chair, dean, and President and CEO of the Kansas Board of Regents, a position he held until his retirement in 2015.
